6 Step Marshmallow Plan to Sweet Success in Anything - and Everything!

1. What do you need to change ?

What are you doing now that is helping you in your life ? What will you commit to changing ?

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses ?

What do you need to improve and how can you best make these improvements ?

3. What are your major goals ?

Pick at least five and write down. They must be measurable and have a deadline. If you can't see a goal, you can't achieve it.

4. What is your plan ?

How are you going to achieve your goals ? What strategies do you have to implement right now to stop eating your marshmallows ( instant/short term benefit/reward )?

5. What are you going to do to put your plan into action ?

What will you commit today, tomorrow, next week, next year to help you reach your goals ?

6. Persevere

Don't give up. If you fall down seven times, get up eight. The marshmallow principle ( theory of delayed gratification ) works. Enjoy the challenge as well as the rewards of delayed gratification.

7 reasons you might fail to become the best in the world

1. You run out of time ( and quit )
2. You run out of money ( and quit )
3. You get scared ( and quit )
4. You're not serious about it ( and quit )
5. You lose interest or enthusiasm or settle for being mediocre ( and quit )
6. You focus on the short term instead of the long ( and quit when the short term gets too hard )
7. You pick the wrong thing at which to be the best in the world ( because you don't have the talent )
